ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IN DRUG DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT: AN IN-DEPTH REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly advancing in the pharmaceutical industry andhealthcare systems, demonstrating significant potential across various domains. AIhas shown its utility in drug discovery, continuous manufacturing, dosage formdesign, quality control, drug delivery formulation, polypharmacology, hospitalpharmacy, and more. Notably, de novo design has facilitated the development ofinnovative drug molecules with optimized qualities. This review explores variousAI tools and their applications in the pharmaceutical sector, highlighting how AI isbeing integrated into healthcare systems and its potential benefits for society.Additionally, it addresses the challenges and obstacles associated withimplementing AI in the pharmaceutical industry.
