ABSTRACT

Seizures are characterized as brief episodes of symptoms brought on by the abnormal, excessive, or synchronous brain neuronal activity that is marked by sudden and involuntary movement of the skeletal muscles. Early detection, therapy, and specialized medical assistance must be carried out in order to avoid Status Epilepticus (SE). Onset of seizures, particularly in children population, is associated with particular risk factors such as fever, infections, and positive family history. From infancy to adolescence, pediatric epilepsy can strike at any age. Diagnosis is typically predicated on the detection of persistent or recurrent seizures, but if a SE condition is suspected, an electroencephalogram (EEG) evaluation may be helpful. The aim of treatment is to reverse the pathological process that takes place in SE prior to neural Cells sustain permanent damage. As per the most recent International Guidelines and Seizure-related disease recommendations, a multi-stage, schematic pharmacological and in particular, a diagnostic approach is suggested for the treatment of SE and its associated causes in kids. The first steps should concentrate on administering medications promptly and appropriately at sufficient dosage, airway control, vital sign monitoring, and the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) acknowledgment and treatment of anxiety in parents.
