A one pot synthesis of bioactive benzimidazole derivatives by reaction of ophenylenediamine (OPD) with various aryl aldehydesin the presence of catalytic amount of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) in short reaction time at room temperature with excellent yield.
