Abstract

PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF HONEY ON METANIL YELLOW INDUCED HEPATOTOXICITY IN RAT

ABSTRACT

Present study has been undertaken to evaluate the effect of honey on Metanil yellow induced hepatotoxicity in rat. Metanil yellow has impaired various parameters such as liver weight, SGPT, SGOT, Alkaline phosphatase, total protein and the histological structure of liver significantly in all the experimental groups of animals. Significant recovery has also been observed after supplementation of honey to those experimental animals along with structural improvement of liver section.
