ABSTRACT
Nanotechnology is associated with nano-meter sized objects. Nanotechnology deals with matter at the scale of 1 billionth of a meter and is also the study of manipulating matter at the atomic and molecular scale. Recently particulate systems like nanoparticles have been used as a physical approach to alter and improve the quality of human life. The potential use of polymeric nanoparticles as carriers for a wide range of drugs for therapeutic applications has been increased due to their versatility and wide range of properties. Nanotechnology is expected to bring revolutionary changes in the field of life sciences including drug delivery, diagnostics and production of bio–materials. Different types of nanoparticulate materials used in electronics, magnetic pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, energy, catalytic and materials industries. For the past few decades, there has been a considerable research interest in particulate delivery systems. So, particulate systems like nanoparticles have been utilized as physical approaches to change and improve the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics properties of various types of drug molecules. In this review the type of nanoparticles, synthesis methods of nanoparticles and their applications has been discussed.
