A REVIEW ON TABLETS IN PHARMACEUTICALS: TYPES, PRODUCTION, & APPLICATIONS

ABSTRACT

Medicine is both a science and an art. It is not just about making pills and plasters, but also about understanding and guiding the processes of life. Pharmaceutical oral solid dose forms have been widely utilized for decades due to their ease and adaptability for systemic medication delivery. Tablets can be produced using powders, granules, pellets, or film-coated units. Tablets presently make up about 70% of all ethical pharmaceutical formulations. Tablets are solid pharmaceutical dosage forms that include medicinal ingredients and diluents. They can be made by compression or molding. As a result, tablets can be generically categorized into compressed and molded tablets. Compressed tablets can be characterized as immediately compressible, chewable, or tablet triturates.
